With sadness we inform you of the passing of Mrs. Esther Rabinovich OBM a long time resident of Crown Heights and a member of the Russian community. She passed away on the second day of Rosh Hashana.

Chabad-Lubavitch leadership met early Sunday morning with Nepal Prime Minister Sushil Koirala in New York, where he is participating at the 69th session of the UN General Assembly.
The ‘Running Rabbi’, Rabbi Chalom Boujnah of Chabad at San Diego State University, ran 4 miles on Rosh Hashana to blow Shofar for those who couldn’t make it to Shul.
A visit that was meant to be a pre-Rosh Hashana whirlwind four-day speaking tour and a yartzeit commemoration, turned out to be much more than that. Rabbi Simon Jacobson traveled to Sydney this past weekend to inspire the community for the Yamim Nora’im (Days of Awe). Just as he arrived, the entire city was left reeling by an aborted terrorist plot and pre-dawn raids in north-west Sydney.

The monthly meeting of Community Board 9 at Medgar Evers College in Crown Heights turned hostile Tuesday night, when critics of a controversial plan to rezone Empire Blvd. showed up en masse and loudly demanded that the board rescind its request for a study of the move.
On Tuesday night, the Vaad Talmidei Hatmimim Ha’olami, the organization seeing to the needs of the numerous guests who arrived in Crown Heights for Tishrei, organized a Shiur on Chassidus delivered by Rabbi Yoel Kahan.
