Turner Proposes Tax Breaks for Private Education

Congressman Bob Turner (R-Brooklyn), who replaced disgraced Congressman Anthony Wiener in a special election last year, introduced yesterday the Tax and Education Assistance for Children (TEACH) Act of 2012. If passed, the bill will provide a tax credit of up to 5,000 dollars for families who send their children to private schools and eliminate “double taxation” on parents who send their children to non-public schools.

Karliner Rebbe Visits Chabad Shul in Azerbaijan

The Rebbe of Karlin-Stolin, Rabbi Boruch Shochet, visited the Lubavitch Shul in Baku, Azerbaijan last night. The Shul, led by Rabbi Shneor Segal, was recently featured in international news headlines due to a foiled Iranian terror plot against the Shliach and the local institutions. The pictures are unclear and badly focused due to the fact that the Karliner Rebbe goes through much effort to avoid being photographed.
