South Florida Girls Celebrate Jewish Womanhood

Chabad-Lubavitch of South Broward’s Bat Mitzvah Club Gala was held at the L’Chaim Mee China restaurant in Hollywood, Fla.

A group of girls in South Florida enjoyed a mass birthday celebration with their families as part of their local Bat Mitzvah Club. Members of the club, a project of Chabad-Lubavitch of South Broward, met each Sunday over the past year in Hallandale to learn about Jewish women throughout history through the use of hands-on activities and art projects.

The Great Parade – A Great Success

On Sunday May 22nd, over 20,000 people lined the streets of Crown Heights in a display of Jewish Unity and to celebrate the joyous festival of Lag B’omer, the Yurtzait of Rabbi Shimon Bar Yochai. The Great Parade is based on the legacy of Mesibos Shabbos and Lag B’Omer parades held on Eastern Parkway since the 1940s, and takes place on this scale whenever Lag B’omer falls on a Sunday.

Hawaii Chabad Celebrates Lag Ba’omer by the Ocean

KAILUA KONA, HI — Chabad of the Big Island celebrated Lag Ba’omer in style on Sunday with a BBQ and bonfire at the oceanfront estate of an esteemed community member. Over 40 Jews from towns all over Hawaii’s largest island gathered to learn about Rabbi Shimon bar Yochai and the lessons of his Hilula.
