108 Orphans Celebrate Jewish Milestone at Western Wall

JERUSALEM, Israel – Since its liberation from Jordanian occupation in 1967, the Western Wall has seen its share of crowds. Aside from the tourists, Jewish and non-Jewish, who flock to the holy site daily, every week, scores of Israeli families celebrate their sons’ Bar Mitzvahs at the kotel, as the wall is known in Hebrew.

Surprise Visit to Rabbi Liberow

On Sunday, the 6th of Nissan, while being visited by his family, Rabbi Zalman Liberow, who was badly injured in an accident that took the life of his son Avrohom Dovid, and of Mrs. Pesha Azoulai, was surprised by a visit by Chazan Schneur Zalman Baumgarten and Avraham Fried, along with a band.

SUDBURY, MA — This past Sunday March 21st, well over 150 people joined the Model Matzah Bakery which was held at the Nobscot Reservation in Sudbury to experience a truly exciting and memorable Passover Experience. In the space of three sessions participants from Sudbury and the surrounding towns (including a nice big group from Temple Beth E-lokim in Acton) joined together for a fun hour of Matzah Baking, Passover Fun, and a delightful hour of hands on educational fun.

Last Motzoei Shabbos, Parshas Vayakhel-Pekudei there was a Kinus Hisorerus for women and girls of the Jewish community in memory of Rebbetzin Sara rochel schochet. Over 500 hundred people attended.

Petition to Let Sholom Rubashkin Home for Pesach

Over the past couple of days there has been a petition circling the internet requesting that former CEO of Agriprocessors Kosher slaughterhouse, Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin be allowed to spend Pesach with his family in Postville, IA.

TACOMA, WA — Reading Brent Emery’s On Faith column in November 2009, “Learning to pray from a Jewish perspective,” and the recent first anniversary of the terror attacks in Mumbai, where the murders of the young Rabbi and his wife, Gabbi, and Rivki Holtzberg occurred, motivated me to introduce Chabad, an organization probably little known to Gateway readers.
