Conference Brings Thousands of Jewish Women to New York

Some 2,500 Jewish community leaders are converging in Brooklyn, N.Y., this week for the 22nd annual International Conference of Chabad-Lubavitch Women Emissaries.

In their capacity as emissaries, the women – who will be joined by lay leaders from their communities – serve as school principals, teachers, counselors, writers, camp directors, editors, program managers, youth directors and fundraisers, in addition to their critical roles as wives and mothers.

A Day of Chinuch in Los Angeles

On Monday, Feb. 1, the Menachem Education Foundation sponsored a day of Chinuch in the Los Angeles educational community in conjunction with Cheder Menachem of L.A., Beis Chaya Mushka of L.A. and the B.J.E. of L.A.

Mr. Shimon Waronker was brought in to address three separate audiences and venues on the importance of strong educational leadership. Shimon is currently learning from Chancellor Joel Klein to lead the largest public school system in the nation.

The drug, which could be ready for testing within three years, is designed to mimic the actions of three ‘super genes’ which all significantly increase the chances of living past 100.
