Treasures of Chassidus, an Exhibit by Beis Rivka Students

30 Girls and 4 days of work went into an amazing set of exhibits that were on display for all the grades of Beis Rivka in honor of Yud Tes Kislev, the Chag Hageulah and Rosh Hashsana of Chassidus. The exhibit was titled the “Discover our Treasures” was a visual walkthrough of all the Rabbaim from the Baal Shem Tov through the Rebbe.

Each exhibit was rich with detail on each of the Rabbaim they depicted including their Mivtzoim, the result of the work and effort put in by the 12th grade students of Beis Rivkah.

Preliminary Kingston Avenue Reconstruction Plans Unveiled

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At Tuesday night’s Community Board meeting representatives from the city’s Department of Design and Construction unveiled a preliminary plan for the reconstruction of Kingston Avenue, a project which includes a complete and total revamp of the entire infrastructure including sidewalks, streets, sewers and gas lines. The purpose of the meeting was so that residents can give their input on the plans, and give their own recommendations.

Gov. Schwarzenegger to Light Capitol Menorah with Chabad

LOS ANGELES, CA — To help bring the festive spirit of Chanukah to California, Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will join with Chabad representatives to illuminate the Capitol Menorah in Sacramento on December 18. The celebration begins at 2:30 p.m., with the Governor addressing the public from the steps of the Capitol to share holiday greetings and promote Chanukah’s universal message of freedom, hope, and light.

Yud Tes Kislev Farbrengen in Flatbush!

FLATBUSH, Brooklyn [CHI] — Last night Rabbi Shmuel Butman Farbrenged at Beis Menachem Mendel of Flatbush in honor of Yud Tes Kislev. More than 100 people participated. One of the Mispalelim completed the Shas and it was started again with everyone taking upon themselves a new Mesechta.

Apartment Fire in a Large Residential Building

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — At around 7:00pm Tuesday evening a fire broke out inside one of the apartments on the 5th floor of 763 Eastern Parkway, a six story semi-fireproof building which houses over 130 residential units and spans from Eastern Parkway all the way back to Lincoln Place.
