MORRISTOWN, NJ [CHI] — Cheder Lubavitch of Morristown, NJ (Chedermorristown.com) held its annual Melave Malka this past Motzie Shabbos. The gathering attended by parents, teachers, and community members was an evening dedicated to Every Day Miracles, an appreciation of Cheder. The evening was a huge success, with everyone feeling inspired and grateful for having such a wonderful school.

Samuel Balkany is surrounded by community and political leaders at the Jewish Children’s Museum as he recounts beatdown that left him needing a medical staple to close a gash in his head.

The 16-year-old yeshiva student who told cops he was beaten by five black teens during an anti-Semitic rampage in Brooklyn has been involved in three other violent incidents in the past year.

Samuel Balkany reported being robbed at knifepoint, randomly pushed as he exited a car and having his nose broken in separate attacks since moving in with an aunt in Crown Heights last year, police sources said.

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn — State Senator Eric Adams convened a press conference at the Jewish Museum to protest and condemn the vicious beating of the 16 year old yeshiva bochur this past Friday night.

Samuel Balkany, 16, needed staple to close gash after being attacked Friday night. Balkany told cops he was beaten by five black teens shouting hate-filled slurs said Sunday the attack has left him terrified – fearful of even walking outside his Brooklyn home.

MY Shliach provided an all you can eat Chinese buffet and Sushi Bar! Due to the tremendous growth since last year in the number of mentors, this year’s My Shliach event was moved from last year’s location at the Levi Yitzchak Library to this year’s larger location.

SARATOV, Russia –- Jews residing in the southern Russian city of Saratov were able to celebrate a monumental occasion this weekend, welcoming a new Torah scroll to the Great Choral Synagogue on the occasion of its 100-year anniversary. The scroll was donated by Rabbi Yitzhak Kubichek, the father of the region’s Chief Rabbi Yakov Kubichek, who decided to make this contribution upon his most recent visit to Saratov from his home in Jerusalem.
