Second Night of Simchas Beis Hashoeva in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] – For the second time this Chol Hamoed Thousands flocked to the Simchas Beis Hashoeva celebration in Crown Heights, and were entertained by Hatomim Benny Freidman accompanied with music performed by R. Avi and his son Yehuda Piamenta.

A number of local politicians got up and gave holiday blessings to crowd followed by Reb Yisroel Shemtov, organizer of the event, who gave thanks to the NYPD for their support and dedication, and to the members of Shomrim who helped keep order and gave assistance to all those that sought it.

A Farbrengen with Reb Yoel in a Sukkah

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Simchas Beis Hashueva in Crown Heights is an attraction that draws thousands of Yidden from all walks of life, while people are dancing to joyous and lively music tens of Farbrengens go on in nearby Sukkas.

One popular spot last night was in the Sukkah of Reb Chaim Shaul Brook of Vaad Hanochos Belaha”k where RebYoel Kahan, the Rebbes Chozer, Farbrenged with the crowd of Chassidim from Williamsburg, Boro Park and Flatbush into the early hours of the morning.

Politicians Visit Rosh HaKohols Sukkah

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Last night local politicians visited the Sukkah of Rabbi Moshe Rubashkin, chairman of the Jewish Community Council of Crown Heights. The visitors expressed their amazement upon learning that Rubashkin has been hosting over 100 Bochurim in his home for the month of Tishrai.

Car Slams into Tree, No Serious Injuries

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Sunday afternoon two cars collided in the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Albany Avenue, causing one of the cars to jump the curb and slam into a tree.

Baruch Dayan HoEmes – Chasha Rivka Ostrov OBM

With sadness we inform you of the of the passing of Chasha Rivka (Charlotte) Ostrov OBM, mother of Yibadu Lechaim Tovim Tziporah Clapman (Crown Heights) and Shaya Ostrov (Crown Heights). She was 83 years old.

UPDATED: The Levaya will take place today, Monday, and will be leaving from the Kehilla Chapel at 60 Brighton 11th Street at 12:00pm and will be passing by 770 at around 1:15pm.
