New Shluchim to Texas

Rabbi Yossi and Manya Lazaroff will IYH be moving on Shlichus to College Station, Texas where they will establish a new Chabad House serving the students and faculty at Texas A&M University.

The Lazaroffs, were appointed under the auspices of Chabad of Texas Regional Headquarters.

Meeting of the Mosdos and Organizer of the Parade

On Thursday, Alef Iyar/April 20th a meeting of all local Mosdos together with the Vaad organizing the Lag B’omer parade took place at the NCFJE headquarters. At the meeting the principals were updated with the latest information regarding the parade, in order that the schools will be able to participate in an organized and coordinated fashion.

Is No GED Holding You Back?

A.L.I.Y.A. (Alternative Learning Institute for Young Adults) will be re-launching its GED program after Pesach. The course will run from the first of May for 5 months and offer all students the opportunity to achieve a GED. It will run Monday through Thursday 7-9pm @ the Aliya Institute 525-527 E New York Ave. The program will also include an optional Shiur from 6:30 till 7pm and membership to the “Aliya Gym” also located at 525-527 E New York Ave.

GED (The General Educational Development Test) is a test that certifies the taker has attained American level academic skills. To pass the GED students will have to be educated in Math, English, Science and social studies. These skills will be taught in this class and tests will be arranged for students upon achievement of skills. To be eligible for this program you must be 18 and older be on at least a 9th grade level of Math and English and be motivated!

At the headquarters of the International Tanya Campaign for Children in Israel and the United States preparations for the academic school year 2007-2008 are accelerating.

At this time of year the schools are focusing on preparing the curriculum for the new semester and it has been reported that there is a major interest for students to participate in the Tanya program.

Hatzalahs CH1 is back in Service!

Two months ago Hatzalahs new ambulance, CH1, was involved in an accident where a car struck the ambulance dealing a significant amount of damage to it. Erev Shabbos the ambulance has been retuned to service bringing our number of ambulances in service to three.
