Sitka, AK — With Yud-Aleph Nissan just a month away; giving a gift to the Rebbe is on every chossid’s mind. Over 25 years ago, the Rebbe began a push that the Tanya be printed in any location where there is even one Jew. Ever since, Tanyas have been printed globaly, in nearly every city. The Rebbe explains that by printing; one accomplishes that not only are the “wellsprings” spread everywhere, but that the city itself, becomes a wellspring of its own (Lukkutei Sichos vol. 26).
The Rebbe says:
1. The Megillah (the scroll which we read the “Book of Esther” from) describes the wicked haman as “haman the agagite”. Agag was a King of the amelekites and the wicked haman descended from this King.
Question: Why is the wicked haman described as “haman the agagite”, and what does this have to do with Purim?
2. The Rebbe now builds the foundation for the explanation:
The Haftorah (a text selected from “The Prophets” which is read on Shabbat after the Torah reading) which we always read on the Shabbos before Purim tells us the story of king agag:

At around 9:10 this morning there was an explosion in a Mechanic shop on Troy Ave between East New York and Lefferts, the area quickly filled with smoke and flames were visible from inside the shop. FDNY arrived on scene only moments after the fire broke out and quickly raised the fire to a 2nd alarm, brining a lot more firefighters and EMS workers to the scene.
It took around 30 minutes to completely subdue the fire during which the school Bnos Menachem who is adjacent to the rear of the mechanic shop began filling with smoke. Numerous Shomrim members who were on scene quickly evacuated the school in an orderly fashion. Some children were seen in their Purim costumes.

The Rebbe says:
1. At the conclusion of this week’s Torah portion, the Torah tells us about the Mizbe’ach Ha’za’hav (the Altar covered in gold).
2. Our Sages tell us that the Altar covered in gold, and the Altar covered in copper which the Torah told us about in last week’s Torah portion, cannot become impure (Tamei) no matter what touches it.
