Empire and Troy, Still the most dangerous intersection in CH

Last night at around 12:30 there was a collision between two cars, a car service and a Hyundai, what appears to have happened was on car was traveling down Empire and the other up Troy and collided at the center of the intersection. There were no serious injuries reported and passengers from the car service were transported to a local hospital. There were no Yidden involved.

Last week there was another incident where a Jewish child was struck by a car there, B”H the injuries weren’t serious. Parents and drivers please pay more attention, in the past week we nearly had a tragedy L”A with the child that got trapped in a gate and this intersection had the most accidents throughout Crown Heights.

Chabad’s Kosher Cruise – a success in Atlantic City

Atlantic City, NJ — The sky was clear and the sun shone bright as Chabad At The Shore’s Kosher Cruise set sail for a scenic excursion of the back bays of Atlantic City. One-hundred-fifty people showed up and joined in making history as the first ever Kosher Cruise in South Jersey set sail.

With a huge banner declaring “Kosher Cruise” and with Jewish music blaring from its loudspeakers, the Kosher Cruise announced its presence to all. Hundreds of spectators, on the beaches along the shore and on their boats on the bay waved to the Cruise as they passed, marveling at the novel idea.

HaChayal, Minnesota – A Huge Success

“HaChayal – Ein Mishpachah” is the camp slogan. That is because HaChayal is nothing more then a family. The camp consisted of 30 bochurim with 7 staff members; Director – Yosef Plotkin, HC – Levi Raskin, Counselors – Yossi Bryski, Moishe Chanowitz, Levi Cole – Learning Teachers – Zalmy Lowenthal, Schneur Wilhelm.

Being the size it was gave the opportunity for every camper to receive the attention necessary. This is just one of the many advantages of HaChayal.

Siyum HoRambam in Gan Yisroel Detroit

Camp Gan Yisroel Detroit gathered two weeks ago for a beautiful Siyum Horambam. Based on the Rebbe’s Horaa to make Siyumim. This follows a big Mivtza Rambam, headed by the head staff and some learning teachers, in which every camper got their own set of Sefer Hamitzvos, and while they are in camp the counselors learn with them the Mitzvos every night. The kids fill out a questionnaire the next day on the day’s Hamitzvos, and enter a raffle on a set of Rambam, or a new bicycle.
