Road Sage Big Winner At Richmond Maccabi Games

Rabbis Yudel Rader and Levi Margolin drove the mobile mitzvah center to Richmond to assist in distributing Shabbat Candles, souvenirs and to put on teffilin with people at the games.

MANCHESTER, England [CHI] — This year, as a gift to the Rebbe, the Bochurim and Anash distributed over 6000 boxes of packed shmura matzah, five times the amount given out last year, to Jews in Manchester and those spread out in South England.

One of the top 4 hottest NYC trends on Twitter today was the Mitzvah Tank Parade in Manhattan. Tens of thousands of people tweeted messages about their sightings of the RVs parading through the busy NYC streets. Jewish tunes blared from 60 vehicles commemorating the 60 years since the commencement of the Lubavitcher Rebbe’s leadership.

My Rikers Island Purim Experience

The time is 8:30 AM, Purim morning, in Crown Heights. Most people in the neighborhood are just getting up to hear the megillah and daven shacharis. On the street corner of Empire and Albany a group of Lubavitchers are gathering together to set out on a Purim day mission; a visit to the Rikers Island Correctional Facility. This ritual has taken place Purim day, for the last 20 years. Founded by Rabbi Yossel Tevel OBM, and Rabbi Michoel Chazan, under the auspices of Tzach, it has become a hallmark outreach project for many bochurim and yungerleit of Crown Heights.

Bochurim Doing Mivtoim at London’s Heathrow Airport

Throughout the nights of Chanukah El Al had a 10:15pm flight taking off from London’s Heathrow Airport to Tel Aviv, Israel. These lucky passengers and flight crew were welcomed in boarding lounge by the Bochurim, who distributed delicious jelly doughnuts and a travel size Chanukah Menorah with candles for they trip. The passengers and crew enjoyed the company and Divrei Torah while waiting for their plane. Thousands of Menorahs and doughnuts were distributed throughout the nights of Chanukah.

500 Released Time Families Visited Over Chanukah

Over the eight days of Chanukah, the tireless and dedicated released time instructors visited their students in their homes, bringing the joy and beauty of Chanukah to each one of the children’s families. They lit the Menorah with the children and their families, played dreidle and distributed doughnuts and Chanukah gelt. Additionally, they put up Mezuzos in those homes that didn’t have one yet.

Chanukah Mivtzoim for all!

A new initiative for Chanukah spearheaded by the Igud Avreichim of Crown Heights aims to get families and individuals to go out on Chanukah Mivtzoim. “Thousands of Jewish families living within a half hour of Crown Heights, in Brooklyn and Manhattan, will celebrate Chanukah this year with visits from Lubavitch families like yours.”

Community Holds Meet and Greet for Smicha Bochurim

Youngest President on Wall St. Affixes Mezuzah

Cory Miller is the youngest President of a financial trading firm; he is just twenty two years old. This past Monday afternoon Chabad of Wall Street Rabbis Shmaya Katz and Moshe Frank installed a mezuzah in his company branch on Wall Street.

Manchester Students Take Holiday Celebrations to the Homebound

Coming off of one of the busiest times of the year, Jewish community members and yeshiva students in Manchester, England, said that a campaign to bring the fall holiday season to homebound and hospitalized individuals resulted in hundreds of people getting a chance to celebrate the High Holidays.
