Crown Heights History: The Corner of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue 1940 VS Today

When the Chabad Headquarters at 770 Eastern Parkway purchased the two adjacent buildings in the 1960s, they expanded the main synagogue until Kingston Ave. This expansion took out the five street level stores.

Man, Possibly Armed, Wanted In String of Burglaries and Harassments In Crown Heights

It was around 5:30pm Tuesday when a tall man, approximately 18 years old, entered Basil Restaurant in Crown Heights to use the restroom. By 2:00am, he will already be wanted for breaking into at least two Jewish stores on Kingston Ave and brandishing a gun.
