Stolen Phone Recovered and Arrest Made In Crown Heights Tuesday

by CrownHeights.info

An apparently homeless man collecting junk in Crown Heights was arrested Tuesday afternoon after being caught stealing a cell phone from a resident’s property.

Crown Heights Shomrim received a call about the man after a neighbor noticed the thief lifting the phone from a gazebo in the area of Troy Ave. Alerting the owner, the two then called Shomrim and followed the man as he towed his cart full of stuff to Midwood.

There Shomrim volunteers arrived just as the owner retrieved the phone and engaged the man in conversation while the police responded.

Soon after, the man was in cuffs and the police took him and his stuff to the local precinct.

They are their for our families and our children. If you see something , don’t just walk by. Do something or make the call to Shomrim.
