Shomrim Searching the Subway Station

Crown Heights, Brooklyn [CHI] — Sunday at around 10 PM, a group of teens went around terrorizing the community. The group started out at Union St and New York Ave where they attempted to mug a bochur, and then fled down Union St and mugged another Bochur between Brooklyn Ave and Kingston Ave.

New Shluchim to Stavropol, Russia

Rabbi Zvi and Mrs Chayale (nee Greenberg) Hershcovich of Montreal, Canada will IYH be going on Shlichus to Stavropol, Russia, after Tishrei, where they will establish a new Chabad House serving the needs of the local Jewish Community.

The new Shluchim were appointed by Rabbi Lazar.

Cancun’s New Chabad House Safe and Sound After Hurricane

Cancun, Mexico — Rabbi Mendel Druk, co-director of the new Chabad-Lubavitch Jewish Center in Cancun, Mexico, reported on Tuesday that despite expectations, Hurricane Dean largely spared the resort area’s Jewish community the brunt of its wrath.

Yeshivas Lubavitch of Baltimore Buys Building

Baltimore, MD — The Lubavitcher Yeshiva of Baltimore under the esteem leadership of the Rosh Yeshiva Rabbi Dovid Weber and the Menahel Gashmi Rabbi Ephraim Rosenbloom, has with the grace of G-D completed the signing on a building for the Yeshiva. The purchase was made possible with the help of the Head Shliach to Maryland Rabbi Shmuel Kaplan.

Chabad of UW Acquires a New Home

Seattle, WA — Chabad of Washington University, directed by Rabbi Elie and Mrs Chaya Rochel Estrin, closed a deal on a home in Seattle’s University District. The property is located at 5200 21st Ave NE. They acquired this 5000 square foot property for $870,000 with the generous help of Mr. George Rohr and his family foundation.

Natick, MA — For Metrowest residents, dish-washing is becoming a more spiritual experience.“The Dish Mikvah,” which opened last month, is the most recent installation of the Mei Menachem Western Well’s community mikveh, a state-of-the-art Natick facility aimed to serve roughly 40,000 Jewish individuals living west of Boston. Rabbi Levi Fogelman and his wife, Chanie, the leadership at the Chabad Center of Natick, spearheaded the initiative with the intent to revitalize the “mitzvah of the mikveh,” as well as to address the importance of making dishes and other utensils kosher for household use.

Camp Gan Israel Celebrates a Decade of Summer Fun

Greenwich, CT — This summer marks the 10th year anniversary of Camp Gan Israel of Greenwich, most recently located on Lake Avenue. Founded by Yoseph and Maryashi Deren in 1997, the camp seeks to provide a quality camp experience within a Jewish environment for children 20 months to 13 years old.
