Hey Teves Book Fair in Oholei Torah!
CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — One of the instructions of the Rebbe following Hey Teves, Didan Notzach, was to purchase more Seforim. Oholei Torah marked it with a special book fair for the second year. Organized by the PTA of Oholei Torah along with assistance from OTEG [the Oholei Torah Eight Grade] a special fair was put together in the Lunchroom along with a Safrus workshop where kids got their own quill and piece of parchment, and games relating to Hey Teves.

SYDNEY, Australia [CHI] — Close to 1000 people attended the ‘Chanukah with the Stars’ carnival organized by the Sydney Tzemach Tzedek community on Sunday 29 Kislev. This event turned out to be one of the most successful of its kind in this congregation’s history. However, this great event would have been reduced to failure, if not for the occurrence of an unexpected miracle.

The weekly shiur by Rabbi Yossi Jacobson from Wednesday Gimmel Teves (zos channukah) now available.
1. This week’s Torah portion starts off and says that Yehuda (Judah- one of the Twelve Tribes) approached his brother Yosef (Joseph- another one of the Twelve Tribes) to discuss the issue of forcing Binyamin (Benjamin- the youngest of the Twelve Tribes) to remain in Egypt.
The Midrash Rabah tells us that when Yehuda approached Yosef he was ready for anything, even war.
Why did Yehuda take such a firm stance for his brother Binyamin and not any of the other Twelve Tribes? Because Yehuda had promised his father Yakov (Jacob) earlier on that he would be responsible for Binyamin, as the Torah continues this story and quotes Yehuda telling Yoseph, “Because your servant has assumed responsibility for the boy”.
