Rabbi Zev Segal related this story about when the first and last El Al plane was hijacked. It was in July 1968, when a flight from Rome was seized by the terrorist group Popular Front for the Liberation of Palestine, and forced to land in Algiers. Passengers and crew were held hostage there, with the last of them not released until five months later.

The Ache in my Heart

by Jay Litvin – Chabad.org

I am basically one of those “flesh and blood” sort of people. While the Rebbe’s writings and teachings are of great importance to me, while I continue to experience the Rebbe as a very active, involved part of my life, still, I miss the flesh and blood connection.

Perhaps I must apologize for not having risen to greater spiritual heights. For if I had attained these heights, then perhaps my spiritual connection with the Rebbe would suffice; or perhaps I would have more internalized the truth that a great tzaddik, once freed from his body, is freed as well from the limitations of his body.

Teshuras given at Wedding of “My Encounter” Director

In connection with 28 Sivan, we are pleased to present two Teshuros that were given out at the wedding of Rabbi Yechiel Cagen, Director of JEM’s My Encounter with the Rebbe project, to the daughter of Rabbi Betzion Friedman of Kansas City last week.

The first was a 20-minute DVD preview of the next film in the Early Years series, The Early Years, Volume IV. It covers the Rebbe and Rebbetzin’s travels ahead of the Nazis in war-torn France from June of 1940 until the couple’s arrival in the US on Chof-Ches Sivan, 1941. In it are fascinating new interviews and newly discovered documents from that period. The complete film should be out for fall/winter, 2008.
