The following is a beautiful Article that was written by Professor Elie Wiesel, the article was first published in a Special publication that was printed honor of Forty years of the Rebbe’s Leadership titled “One Hour: Forty Years”. I will always remember my first visit to Lubavitch. It happened some thirty years ago. Though a Chasid of Wizhnitz, I had heard of Chabad and its renowned leader. A foreign correspondent for Israel’s evening paper “Yediot Achronot,” I had thought of doing a story about the way Lubavitcher chasidim celebrate the liberation of the first–or the “Alter”–Rebbe, Rabbi Shneur Zalman of Liadi from Czarist prison. When I left in the early morning hours, I still belonged to Wizhnitz, but I was already caught by something or someone one finds only in Lubavitch.
POSTVILLE, IA — Federal prosecutors have arrested Sholom Rubashkin, former chief executive officer and vice president at Agriprocessors and son of company founder Aaron Rubashkin, on a criminal complaint that alleges the man conspired in immigration-related offenses.

The following is an important recall which applies to many cribs that have been given to Kollel Yungerlite over the past few years. please read:
Delta Enterprise Corp. has recalled nearly 1.6 million drop side cribs after two babies suffocated when the drop side detached. The recall includes cribs with two different kinds of broken hardware, including 985,000 “Crib Trigger Lock with Safety Peg” drop side hardware, and 600,000 “Crib Trigger Lock with Spring Peg” drop side hardware.
Although neither of these cribs are currently sold at stores, you should check cribs you already own to make sure they’re not included.

The Rebbe says:
1. This week’s Torah portion discusses the flood which Hashem (G-d) brought onto the world because of their immoral behavior .
2. The Rebbe now explains a deeper aspect of the flood:
The Alter Rebbe (Reb Shneur Zalman of Liadi) explains that the flood was not only a punishment for the inhabitants of the world because of their terrible behavior, it was also a cleansing for the world .
3. The Rebbe now shows how this aspect of the flood, it being a cleansing, clearly affected the flood’s characteristics:
CHRISTCHURCH, New Zealand [CHI] — Not a place that you’d expect to see hundreds of Jews coming to Shul, the first in the world to usher in the Jewish New Year. Rabbi Goldstein, along with student Rabbi, Berri Spitetzki, make their rounds visiting hospitals to blow shofar, hosting meals for more than a hundred community members and tourists, with a Shul packed with record number of congregants for Rosh Hashana. The high holidays continued with Yom Kippur. “For me Yom Kippur was just a day for trips with my friends. But for the first time I feel Jewish. To celebrate a real Yom Kippur, thanks to Chabad,” were the words that Dana, a daughter of an influential Israeli politician from Ramat Aviv, had to express herself.
It’s a riddle that might never be solved, but when the Brandeis Humanists met Chabad at Brandeis Oct. 6 for a public debate, they discussed one of the most disputed questions in the modern world: Does God exist?

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — The streets of Crown Heights were bursting with action, men women and children from around the world have gathered for “Tishrei in the Rebbe’s Court”.
While sometimes the extra load of people can be burdensome; extra long lines in our local stores, extra pushing and shoving in 770, over flowing usage of the Mikva’s, to name a few. We are well aware of the Rebbe’s supportiveness of Hachnosas Orchim, and the residents of the Shechuna, as always, have stepped up to the task.
BROOKLYN, NY — At 12:30am last night the Williamsburg’s Shomrim Hotline received a call for a person that had been missing since 12:00am. The missing, a 29 year old man who was visiting from Canada for a wedding, had some mashke to drink went for a walk and got lost.
Williamsburg Shomrim members began canvassing the area and called the Crown Heights Shomrim Division together with Hatzolah for more manpower and together they searched into the night.

As a member of the orthodox Chabad sect of Brooklyn, Salita (28-0-1, 16 KOs) is bound by rules that most people in the boxing world would consider “distractions.” Because of his religious beliefs Salita is required to take time out from his training to perform ritual prayers three times a day and must eat strictly kosher food, even when he’s on the road.
The toughest of these rules – at least for a boxer — is the Sabbath which is the Jewish day of rest running from sundown Friday through sundown Saturday. Salita cannot train or fight within that time frame, and must also refrain from boxing on as many as 70 Jewish holidays.
