300 Celebrate Chanukah with Chabad of Laguna Niguel

LAGUNA NIGUEL, CA [CHI] — Over 300 people turned out to celebrate the start of Chanukah with Chabad of Laguna Niguel, at the Crown Valley Park Amphitheater on Sunday evening Dec. 21st. The honorable mayor, Mr. Robert Ming addressed the crowd and lit the lead flame of the 9 foot Menorah.

Children in Long Island Accident Return Home From Hospital

WOODMERE, NY — All of the children injured Thursday’s traffic accident at the Chanukah Wonderland in Woodmere, N.Y., returned home before Shabbat.

Rabbi Zalman Wolowik, director of Chabad-Lubavitch of the Five Towns – the Cedarhurst-based Jewish center that operated the Chanukah workshop – praised G-d that the children were released from the hospital, but noted that a journey of recovery lay ahead. Some 14 people in Thursday’s incident when a vehicle jumped the curb and plowed into the building housing the Chanukah Wonderland.

Chabad Gets Green Light: Neighbor Sees Red and Will Appeal Decision

GUILFORD, CT — In a vote of 4 to 3, the Guilford Planning & Zoning Commission (PZC) approved the Chabad-Lubavitch of the Shoreline’s application to build a synagogue and day care center at 181 Goose Lane.

The decision last week came after many months of public hearings and testimony by traffic and real estate experts from both sides of the fence: the Chabad and a group in opposition to the development called Save Goose Lane. Members of the latter group consist mainly of neighbors to the site.

Everyone helps out in the way that they can. Since I work with many talented people in the Jewish music industry, I wanted to do something musical that would express our feelings on the upcoming Shloishim of the Kedoshim who were murdered in the Chabad House in Mumbai, India.

What was our answer to bring about a contemporary miracle in our times? Was it our mission to become a Jewish version of warriors and rise up like a band of raggedy armed Maccabees against the scourge of evil?
