With great sadness we report the passing of Rabbi Shimon (Shimmy) Heshkovitz OBM a Shliach of the Rebbe in Ofakim, EY. He passed away on Tuesday, the 26th of Elul, 5783, after battling an illness.

Mrs. Devorah Greenberg, the beloved matriarch of a large Chabad family—many of her 17 children and dozens of grandchildren lead more than 50 Chabad-Lubavitch centers around the world—passed away in Bnei Brak, Israel, on the 21st of Av, 5783 (Aug. 8, 2023). She was 85 years old.

The eighteenth of Elul, was an especially auspicious day this year for the Jews of the Siberian capital city of Novosibirsk. On this day two beacons of light for the Jewish nation were born: the Baal Shem Tov and the Alter Rebbe, also known as the Baal HaTanya, and on this day a brand new, state of the art Jewish Day School was inaugurated. The school, a first of its kind, will integrate special needs children under a project called “Lev”.
