A Letter from the Rebbe about a Recession…

In honor of fifty-years today from Reb Zalmon Jaffe’s first visit to the Rebbe in 5719 (1959), www.myencounter.com is releasing a copy of a letter from the Rebbe from 5714 (1954) to Reb Zalmon that talks about how one must increase their faith in Hashem when there seems to be a recession and that G-d is not limited to the “business cycles.”

Canadian Envoy Concludes Anti-Terror Trip With Visit to Mumbai Chabad House

Jason Kenney, Canadian Minister of Citizenship, Immigration and Multiculturalism, toured the heavily-damaged Chabad House in Mumbai on Friday.

Speaking from the site of Mumbai, India’s heavily-damaged Chabad-Lubavitch center six weeks after Islamist terrorists killed its six occupants, including directors Rabbi Gavriel and Rivka Holtzberg, Canadian MP Jason Kenney said that the Nov. 26 attack should be a wake-up call to people around the world.

Alternate Side Parking Rules Suspended Tuesday

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) today announced the suspension of Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations citywide for Tuesday, January 20 to facilitate snow removal. However, parking meters will remain in effect throughout the City.

Two City Workers Injured in Friday Morning Car Crash

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — A Friday morning accident left two city employees injured and the assistance provided by Shomrim and Hatzalah made a massive Kiddush Hashem. The incident took place at around 10:30am in the intersection of Union Street and Albany Avenue where two cars, an BMW SUV and a Toyota Prius, collided after one of them blew through a red light.
