Police Search For Suspect In Crown Heights Bank Robbery

CROWN HEIGHTS [NY1] — Police are looking for the man who held up a bank in Brooklyn earlier this month.

The robbery happened at a Washington Mutual branch on Eastern Parkway in Crown Heights on the morning of January 5th.

Hate Crime in the Kingston Avenue Subway Station

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — At around 10:30 this morning, Wednesday, a MTA commuter called Shomrim and alerted them to a number of hate graffiti on the subway platform. The graffiti consisted of a Jewish Star of David being equated to a swastika and the words “long live hamas” underneath it.

Chabad of Wall Street to Launch Fundraiser With New Torah Scroll

NEW YORK NY — Chabad-Lubavitch of Wall Street has disclosed plans to launch a fundraiser and dedicate the writing of a new Torah scroll in memory of the late Mrs. Charlotte Rohr, of blessed memory, matriarch of the philanthropic Rohr family.

The first letters in the Torah scroll will be inscribed at a black-tie fundraising drive for the Chabad center, March 16, at the Jewish Heritage Museum in New York City.

Intruder in Bais Rivkah, Police Take 30 Minutes to Respond

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — A teacher had her cell phone stolen and her purse rummaged through by an intruder inside of Bais Rivkah high school in Crown Street. The disturbing incident took place at around 12:45pm on Tuesday where a teacher spotted a black man with a light complexion and white hair and a large build who did not work for the school roaming around the hallways on the second floor.

Two Injured in Evening Accident

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Tuesday evening two cars collided in the intersection of Brooklyn Avenue and Eastern Parkway, prompting a number of bystanders who witnessed the incident scrambling for their phones and calling Hatzalah.

Prominent Rabbonim Visit Golden Beach Yeshiva

GOLDEN BEACH, FL [CHI] — The Yeshiva Semicha Program of Golden Beach, FL, was tested on hilchos taaruvos this past Thursday. The testers were Rabbi Dovid Schochet, Dayan in Toronto, Canada; Rabbi Y.Y. Yaruslavski, of the Chabad Beis Din of Israel; and Rabbi Yossi Marlow, the Chabad Rav of North Miami Beach. The Rabbonim expressed great satisfaction and were very impressed by their vast knowledge of the halachos.

Hakhel Unity Lecture To Broadcast in over 200 Cities Worldwide

Over 200 Jewish communities around the world will gather on Sunday, Jan. 25, to hear a live broadcast of a lecture by the world renowned Rabbi Adin Steinsaltz.

Alternate Side Parking Rules Suspended Wednesday

The New York City Department of Transportation (DOT) in conjunction with the Department of Sanitation (DSNY) today announced the suspension of Alternate Side Parking (ASP) regulations citywide for Wednesday, January 21 to facilitate snow removal. However, parking meters will remain in effect throughout the City.
