Much money, time, and effort went into a war over the cornerstone which the Rebbe laid for the construction of the new part of 770. This morning workers were seen installing a new headstone, under the watchful eye of two police officers, over the cornerstone in place where much controversy has brewed.
I have just been given a sneak preview of photographer Frederic Aranda’s new photography exhibition, Kosherface, and was blown away. Boasting seven years of photographs of Orthodox Jewish Rabbis, this is a unique, unseen body of work on a private community. Approaching the subject from inside, but as a fashion photographer, he has created something really quite unique.

David Goldberg runs into somebody in the street who looks like his old friend Jack.
“Jack,” he says, “Is that you?! You've put on a bit of weight and your hair has turned gray. You seem a few inches shorter than I recall and your cheeks are puffy. Plus, you're walking differently and even sound different. Jack, what's happened to you?”
“I'm not Jack,” replies the gentleman, half amused half repulsed.
“Wow!” says David, “you son of a gun, you even changed your name.”

Dourly brushing the matter aside the Kaiser declared: “We shall take Belgium! As for the treaties? It is for the philosophers to supply the necessary explanations.”

CROWN HEIGHTS, Brooklyn [CHI] — Another set of manholes exploded this afternoon, this time on Kingston Avenue and President Street. With the hotter summer days the demand for more air conditioning seems to be taxing on the ConEdison electricity grid, causing numerous failures around the city.
MONROE, NJ — At the Chabad Jewish Center of Monroe’s largest Shabbat dinner of the year, a crowd of 220 people gathered to celebrate Jewish tradition and deliberate “Would God vote for Obama?”

When the opportunity arose for Chabad-Lubavitch Rabbi Ephraim Simon to potentially risk his life in the preservation of another’s, he paused. He wanted to give one of his kidneys to a suffering man; the problem was that he had to think about how he would communicate that decision to his nine children.
