TACOMA, WA — Reading Brent Emery’s On Faith column in November 2009, “Learning to pray from a Jewish perspective,” and the recent first anniversary of the terror attacks in Mumbai, where the murders of the young Rabbi and his wife, Gabbi, and Rivki Holtzberg occurred, motivated me to introduce Chabad, an organization probably little known to Gateway readers.

Community Rallies to Support Devastated Chabad House

In the week since a massive flood devastated the Wellesley-Weston Chabad House, community members have rallied together to help clean up and rebuild. The annual Mitzvah Tank Parade, a project of the Mitzvah Tank Org, will begin at 11:00 am at the corner of Eastern Parkway and Kingston Avenue in Brooklyn.

Central Ukraine City Celebrates Jewish Milestones

Joined by regional chief rabbis from throughout central Ukraine, Jewish residents of Krivoy Rog celebrated two milestones this month when they laid the foundation stone for a future kindergarten and sports complex, and commenced writing a new Torah scroll to be used at a nearby synagogue.
