Another Sick Call to ‘KILL JEWS’

BROOKLYN, NY — In a stunning display of intolerance, Sixth Avenue in Park Slope was littered with strips of papers reading “KILL JEWS” in capital letters from Fourth to Ninth streets on Wednesday.

Nearly two dozen of the strips were picked up by Karen Guilbert, who had just finished walking her daughter to school.

Chabads’ Twitter Nominated for Award – Needs Your Support

There will be a Ahavas Chesed Blood Drive Sunday, January 31st, the 16th of Shevat, 2:00pm untill 9:00pm. It is sponsored in memory of Yossi Tewel OBM, founder and lifeblood of Ahavas Chesed. The center is located at 271 Kingston Ave, between Lincoln Place and St Johns Place.

RCCS Hosts Women’s Health Event in Crown Heights

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — The third Crown Heights Women’s Health Awareness Seminar hosted by Rofeh Cholim Chaim Society (RCCS) and sponsored by Maimonides Cancer Center was held on Tuesday evening. A panel of experts from Maimonides Cancer Center and the director of the Crown Heights chapter of RCCS volunteers addressed the crowd of close to 400 in the Razag Ballroom.

Chief Rabbi of Russia Meets with Prime Minister Putin

MOSCOW [FJC] — On January 26, Chief Rabbi of Russia Berel Lazar held a meeting with Prime Minister Vladimir Putin. The event took place on the 65th anniversary of the Soviet Red Army’s liberation of the Auschwitz concentration camp. The conversation touched on the struggle against revisionism of the history of the Second World War, as well as the construction of the Museum of Jewish History.

Motzoi Shabbos: Rally at the Ohel

There will be Melava Malka rally at the Ohel this Motzoi Shabbos, Tu B’Shvat, January 30th. The rally will be for all children ages 5 to 12. Buses leave 770 at 7:00 and return at 9:00. There will be a special program in honor of Tu B’Shvat.

Judge wants more details about fire, safety measures by Feb. 5, orders temporary closing of the Chabad Israeli Center’s facility.

ROCKVILLE, MD — A District Court judge last week ordered the Chabad Israeli Center to temporarily close down the house it operates in Rockville until it can provide city officials with more detailed fire and safety plans.
