Students of Yeshiva Oholei Torah of Crown Heights learned Tanya by heart for a program launched by Rabbi Mordechai and Mrs. Shterney Kanelsky, of the Bris Avrohom Center in Hillside, NJ, in loving memory of their beloved daughter, Bat Sheva ob”m, who passed away seven years ago.

Student leaders at U of IL Recognized at Chabad Event

On Sunday night, May 23, Chabad at University of Illinois had its Celebration event. Celebrating Jewish life at University of Illinois, this special event was put together by parents alumni and friends. close to 200 people came together to celebrate the work and recognise the parents of the year Brian and Andrea Birkan, and recognize the 24 student leaders that dedicate their time on the Chabad Leadership Board.

Help Save 1000 Precious Encounters with the Rebbe!

In today’s day and age a four-digit figure is not very impressive. However the four digit goal just announced by Jewish Educational Media is indeed ambitious.

JEM has rolled out a new campaign to save 1,000 interviews on videotape – attempting to capture firsthand, previously undocumented accounts of the Rebbe’s life and his impact on lives and communities.

Sholom Rubashkin’s defense team argued this afternoon that the judge should throw out all 83 misdemeanor child labor charges because the state did not prove the former plant executive wanted to hire or actually hired any minors.

“The case is underwhelming and ill-conceived and should be put to a stop right now,” said defense attorney Mark Weinhardt. “The evidence in this case is that Mr. Rubashkin did absolutely nothing.”
