Chicago Mayor, Shliach, and Paris Mayor Meet
Mayor of Paris, Bertrand Delanoë, Mayor of Chicago, Richard M Daley and Rabbi Meir Chai Benhiyoun attended a private reception in the Chicago French Market on Tuesday, April 27. The French Mayor together with Deputy Mayor of Paris, Pierre Schapira were in Chicago as guests of honor in the Global Cities Forum, which brings together mayors and/or deputy mayors of Chicago partner cities, to exchange innovative ideas about the future of cities.
It was a bizarre spectacle seeing boxes of brand new Seforim, along with thousands of copies of Beis Moshiach magazine being hauled out of an Eastern Parkway building’s basement, and into a large dumpster waiting at the curb.
