CrownHeights.info has received a number of emails alerting us to missionary activity in the neighborhood. A group of 5 to 10 has been seen knocking on doors all around the neighborhood, targeting Jewish homes specifically.

Antwerp Day Camp Comes to a Close

ANTWERP, Belgium [CHI] — The boys division of the Gan Israel Day Camp of Antwerp, is coming to a close after a wonderful, exciting summer. The camp has 180 frum boys (mostly not Lubavitch,) and is part of the summer camp network of Chabad of Antwerp, headed by Rabbi Shabtai Slavaticki. The entire network consists of 900 campers.

Around two months ago, just before Shavuos, a few dozen women from many different backgrounds came together for a pre-Shavuos Shabbaton on a luxurious estate in Morristown, New Jersey. This was another opportunity to experience one of the unique and inspirational weekends of “Kabbalah of Life” with Chana Ginsburg.

City Considering Charging for Garbage Pickup

In an effort to cut wasteful in New York City government, the city may consider charging for residential trash pickup. Deputy Mayor Stephen Goldsmith, also known as Mike’s “hatchet man” proposed the idea, saying “I can think of 1,000 innovations, but . . . I have not yet had an innovative idea in any meeting that was legal.”
