Thousands attended a rally in Boro Park to support Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin. The event had many speakers, including; Getzel Rubashkin, Rabbi Shimon Zev Meisels, and Chazan Meir Boruch Cohen.

On Monday, Tes Tammuz, Bnos Chomesh Academy held its very first 12th grade graduation.
Over 100 parents, relatives, friends and supporters came to participate in this momentous event. 8 students, some local, some from as far away as Israel, graduated with New York State Regent Diplomas in an emotional ceremony.
This summer over 400 bochurim will be travelling across six continents to reach hundreds of communities as part of Chabad – Lubavitch’s annual summer “Merkos Shlichus”.
All criminal charges against Adelaide Rabbi, Yossi Engel and his wife Chana, were today dismissed in the Adelaide Magistrates’ Court.
Rabbi Engel is the Director of Chabad of South Australia and the Spiritual Leader of the Jewish Learning Centre of Adelaide.
Rabbi and Mrs Engel had each been charged with 39 offences for falsifying documents with the intention to deceive and gain benefit. These charges related to applications by the Spirit of David Adelaide Hebrew School for government funding.
When called upon by the Court, the South Australian Police, who prosecuted the cases, had no evidence whatsoever to lead against either the Rabbi or his wife.

IOWA — Sholom Mordechai Rubashkin will be sentenced to 27 years in prison and ordered to pay nearly $31 million restitution when he’s sentenced Tuesday in U.S. District Court. Supporters of Rubashkin expressed outrage after the announcement. The sentence is inconsistent with calls from legal community for judge to avoid disparity of justice.
It sounds like a simple approach to this country’s illegal immigration problems: Crack down on businesses that employ undocumented workers.
But it’s not so simple. Just consider the jury’s verdict of “not guilty” for Sholom Rubashkin. The former Agriprocessors Inc. executive had been charged with scores of child labor violations and was acquitted on all of them. The Iowa Attorney General’s Office alleged Rubashkin knew there were many children working in the Postville slaughterhouse prior to the 2008 federal immigration raid – but that he did nothing to put a stop to it.
Hundreds of Manhattan’s Upper East Sider’s gathered together this past week for a unique Shabbat experience honouring ten wounded Israeli soldiers. The soldiers were here as part of a ten day trip organized and hosted by Chabad Israel Center of the Upper East Side, led by Rabbi Uriel and Shevy Vigler, together with Chabad Terror Victims Project. Not a dry eye was to be found in the room during the Friday night meal as each veteran shared his personal story of battle and injury.

Evoking laughter and tears, the festivities provided entertainment and inspiration in abundance, but were moreover electrically charged by the overarching awareness that the Conejo Valley Jewish Community was entering a new era.
