Final preparations for the Kinus HaMechanchim, the annual men’s Chinuch conference, a project of the Merkos Chinuch Office, have been completed. The curriculum and the presenters have submitted their handouts, the programs have been printed and the venders are packing their wares.

Fed. Judge Orders Russia to Turn Over Chabad Library

A federal judge granted a motion for default judgment in favor of Agudas Chasidei Chabad of United States against the Russian Federation on July 30th of this year. In the order Russia is required to turn over the collection of over 10,000 Seforim and 50,000 documents.

ROCKVILLE, MD — Members of Chabad Israeli Center in Rockville may need to look for a new place to worship after a Montgomery County District Court judge closed the synagogue for repeated violations of a court order that allowed it to operate only for Sabbath services.

During Merkos Shlichus summer program the roving Rabbis, Moshe Frank and Berri spitezki, who are in South Korea, met this week with Mr. Thomas Kupfer the Swiss ambassador to South Korea who happens to be Jewish. The rabbis were invited to the Ambassadors home and during their visit handed him a Mezuzah.

Elderly Pedestrian Struck on Empire

CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — It sounded like two cars collided, when in fact it was a person that was struck and sent flying down Empire this afternoon. The incident took place in front of 675 Empire Boulevard where an elderly Jewish man was crossing, and was struck by a passing SUV.
