This past Wednesday, in conjunction with Gimmel Tammuz, a Gala banquet was held in the Jewish Childrens Museum by a special organization based in Crown Heights, the Torah Learning Project.
This past Monday, the day before Gimmel Tammuz, over three hundred and twenty shluchim convened at the Hyatt Regency in Long Island for The Rohr Jewish Learning Institute’s 13th Annual Conference.
On Daled Tammuz, family and friends of the Teldon’s family gathered at the Crown Heights home of Rabbi Binyomin and Leah Klein to begin the writing of a Sefer Torah in memory of their son, Boruch Nissan. Like Boruch, his Torah too, will be unique. The Torah is slated to travel around the world to aid Shluchim in their fledgling communities that cannot yet afford a Torah of their own.

Gimmel Tammuz is an emotional day for most Lubavitchers. This Gimmel Tammuz was particularly memorable for the upper management of Yeshiva Darchai Menachem, who spent the morning closing on a 8,400 square feet, two floor school building located on Rutland Rd. The new building is, in the words of school Principal and director Rabbi Eyal Bension, “exactly what the students deserve.”

Over 100 men packed Chovevi Torah’s hall on Wednesday night. It was a mixed crowd with some more Chassidish, others more modern and an array of views.
