    That is, “ayin daled” is “al devar” as opposed to “al derech”.

    I think it was very unwise to put this up on the internet and exposes the Rebbe to major criticism . It is a private letter and should have remained as such

    i didn’t get through the whole video, though I do intend to later. So I’m not sure if you mention this at any point. But I’d venture to say that the Rebbe pointing out that doctors exaggerate the effect of obesity on the body to help the person with the next point – inner peace. The person writing the letter to the Rebbe is obviously bothered by their obesity to the point where they’re obsessing in it – as apparent from the Rebbe’s words, “not to think about it too much”. Struggling with something, trying to rid a bad habit or a way of life while focusing on its ill effect, sends a person into a position where it becomes difficult to fight. And the Rebbe isn’t asserting that the person shouldn’t change it. Rather that if he/she would just take it easy, it wouldn’t be such a task to change.
