Dear Doe Namay AKA John Doe,
Your op-ed last week gave me a bigger jolt than my morning coffee. You stated your opinion against ‘Chabad Lite’ because they may, G-d forbid, call themselves Chabad. Do you consider yourself Chabad? Where exactly can I pick up some “Chabad” measuring tape? Is anyone who disagrees with your opinion really a hater? And how exactly can you say, after penning such an article, that you have Ahavas Yisroel?

Mayor Bloomberg was asked about New York City’s unpopular sanitation parking stickers during his weekly appearance on John Gambling’s WOR radio show today. A Brooklyn councilman has introduced a bill that would ban the stickers, which are placed on cars that violate alternate side parking rules and are incredibly difficult to remove, but Mayor Bloomberg told Mr. Gambling he supports the stickers and he compared people who break the rules to someone murdering their parents and not understanding why they have to go to jail.
Sholom Rubashkin’s appeal to the Federal 8th circuit for a new trial was denied yesterday. His only legal recourse now is to appeal to the United States supreme court within 90 days, which his lawyers plan to do. The Supreme Court almost never agrees to hear criminal cases if there is no major constitutional question involved.
There are fears that Jewish circumcision in the UK could be regulated by NHS bodies for the first time, following a move to curb malpractice in other ethnic groups.
