A few months ago, shoppers walking along Kingston Ave. noticed something different on the block between Montgomery St. and Empire Blvd: Q-Cumber Café was closed. In its place was a hip new Pizza shop with a [not too] different name – Pomodori [Italian plural for Tomato].
A new red box with a telephone was installed in downstairs 770 with a direct line to Hatzalah for use in case of an emergency. CrownHeights.info was told that this was done after the payphones had been removed and should Hatzalah's assistance be needed, there is a way - aside from shouting - to call for their help.

Shluchos that have been streaming into New York for the annual International Kinus visited the Ohel of the Rebbe and Rebbetzin this morning.
The Skverer Rebbe from Boro Park, Rabbi Yechiel Michl Twersky, recently visited the Shul in Bal Harbour, FL. After davening Shachris, he had a meeting with Rabbi Sholom Ber Lipskier in his study, where he spoke about the Lubavitcher Rebbe, OBM.

It was a sight that turned more than a few heads in the Bloomingdale area. On Sunday, a group of rabbis danced through the streets, taking turns carrying a newly completed Torah in a celebratory parade that ended at at 3005 Waylon Ln., Valrico, the home of the new Torah.

Plans for a women’s division of Hatzalah dedicated to assisting in emergency births have been scrapped as the women, after consulting with a respected Brooklyn rabbi, have instead decided to create their own independent volunteer service, titled Ezras Nashim, that will be staffed entirely by women.
