Op-Ed: Judge Not
I am a Crown Heights girl born and bred. A few years ago I moved with my family to upstate to New York. Each time I come back to Crown Heights, I am sadden and shocked to see how our girls and women are moving away from Torah and Yiddishkeit (in their actions and in the way they are dressing). I have wondered why we are losing so many of our girls from the Torah way.

Blog: Howard Kissel’s Encounter with Chabad
Howard Kissel, longtime theater critic for The New York Daily News, passed away on Friday in his Manhattan home. He was 69. During his long career, he served as chairman of both the New York Film Critics’ Circle and the New York Drama Critics’ Circle. Even after leaving the Daily News, he continued to blog regularly for both that site and The Huffington Post. His last post was only three days before his passing.

Raucous Group of Teens Wreck Crown Heights Shop
Today at around 3:00pm, a group of about ten 15-year-old public school teens crowded into the Sell-a-Bration stationary and toy store on Kingston Ave., and began to get rowdy. Fearing damage to his store and goods, Yisroel Greenberg politely requested that they exit the store and re-enter two at a time.
A typical day for Harvey the dog begins when he steps outside his Eastern Parkway home for his morning walk with his owner, Dale Kaplan. The two may vary their route, ambling down Crown Heights’ main drag, Kingston Avenue, detouring to a side street or taking the longer stroll to Brower Park. But wherever they go, droves of chasidic children appear.

Gaboim’s New Lawsuit Challenges Rebbe’s Directives
In 1990, the Rebbe instructed that the corporate documents for all three central Lubavitch institutions: Aguch, Merkos and Machne Yisroel be reviewed. The Rebbe also instructed that among some fundamental changes to be implemented, the membership of Aguch be limited to its 20 directors. Yet, as the Gabo’im file another lawsuit to delay their pending eviction from 770, they reject the Rebbe’s wishes by listing several members of Anash as members of Aguch. Further adding insult to injury, a few of these people are not even aware that they are plaintiffs to this lawsuit!
