JCM Unveils Long Awaited Jewish History Exhibit

Yesterday, Thursday the first of March, the Jewish Children’s Museum in Crown Heights had a Ribbon Cutting Ceremony Unveiling the Land of Israel Gallery on the all-new 6,000 square foot floor, ‘A Voyage through Jewish History’ which is set to open on April 1st 2012. Yuli Edelstein, Israel’s Minister of Public Affairs and the Diaspora opened the Gallery, in the presence of Eliezer Shkedi, CEO of El Al.

Despite Losses, Skechers Donates to Friendship Circle

Despite a tumultuous fourth quarter of 2011, Skechers Footwear, based in Manhattan Beach, CA is still doing its part to support the local community. After reporting a loss of nearly $60 million in the last three months of 2011, Skechers recently donated $409,000 to six local school districts, as well as the Friendship Circle, based in Redondo Beach.

Mayanot brought its unique brand of energy to Danbury Connecticut this past February. Alumni from across the United States joined together to celebrate Shabbat, take part in shiurim, farbreng and relive that special Mayanot spirit! Executive Director Rabbi Shemtov was joined by Rabbi Gestetner, Dean; Rabbi Wichnin, Rosh Yeshiva; and Rabbi Meir Levinger, the head of the Women’s Program, to virtually transport Jerusalem and the Mayanot Institute of Jewish Studies to the United States for Shabbos.

Oholei Torah elementary school held a Siyum Harmabam marking the 30th annual Siyum since the daily Rambam study was instituted by the Rebbe. One of the seventh grade students, Sholom Dov Ber Miezlish, made the Siyum and the crowd heard from principal Rabbi Hershel Lustig and an entertaining story from Reb Yitzy Erps.
