Fathers and Sons Learned Together All Winter in Miami
As the winter comes to a close in Miami-Dade County in Florida, the highly successful Avos Ubonim Motzei Shabbos program in North Miami Beach has ended for the year.
The program held at the Lubavitch Educational Center in North Miami Beach was initiated by Rabbis Shmuel Reinitz, a teacher at L.E.C., and Yehuda Kaploun, Executive vice-president of the Moses and Aaron Foundation.
More than sixty children attended each week with their fathers and were treated to an exciting learning program, plus Chassidishe stories and songs. In addition to the fresh pizza served, prizes were raffled every week for bikes, toys, games, DVDs and CDs, giving many participants the opportunity to go home with great gifts.
Children from the surrounding areas including Miami Lakes, Aventura, Surfside and Sunny Isles attended the program which was run by Rabbi Chaim Brody.
At the last Avos and Bonim program of the season two of the participants won bikes, and each of the attendees was awarded with a Mincha-Maariv Tehillim. The gifts were sponsored by the Moses and Aaron Foundation.
The organizers of the program expressed their appreciation for the assistance and cooperation of Rabbi Benjy Korf in making the L.E.C. available, and hope to double the number of attendees next winter.
