CROWN HEIGHTS [CHI] — Two cars collided in the middle of the intersection of Eastern Parkway and Brooklyn Avenue, with one of the cars ending up of the ‘island,’ miraculously no pedestrians were hurt. Eyewitnesses said one of the cars blew through a steady red light.

The Rebbe’s Impact: Eskimo Girl Discovers Shabbos

At a memorial session at the Israeli Knesset honoring the Lubavitcher Rebbe shortly after his death, Chief Rabbi Yisrael Meir Lau recalled a conversation he had once had with him in which Rabbi Lau spoke of his active involvement in kiruv rechokim, bringing back to Judaism lost Jews who had strayed far away. “The Rebbe immediately corrected me: ‘We cannot label anyone as being ‘far.” Who are we to determine who is far and who is near? They are all close to Hashem.”

Bnos Chomesh Class of 5772 Graduates

“Baruch Shehecheyanu V’kiyemanu V’higiyanu Lizman Hazeh!” exclaimed Principal Dena Gorkin, and Bnos Chomesh’s 3rd graduation was underway. “I am awed,” she continued, “by the fact that this is our 3rd graduating class when just 6 years ago Bnos Chomesh was only a dream!” Yes indeed, it was a dream. While the rest of the South Florida Jewish community was preparing for the upcoming holiday weekend, Mark Rosenberg, Dovi Katz and Chaim Markowitz were up in Tallahassee. They were there to make a presentation to the commanders of the Police Departments and Highway Patrols of the State of Florida. Their topic? Jewish death.

Broken glass is covering several streets in Williamsburg after authorities say nearly a dozen cars were vandalized with a BB gun. In a separate incident, a car driven by Rabbi Aron Kraus of Williamsburg was traveling southbound on the Harlem River Drive from Monsey when an unknown assailant in a dark colored SUV pulled up next to his car and shot out its windows with a pellet gun.
