This week we mark the yohrtzeit of Rabbi Yisroel (Izzy) Rosenfeld OBM. Reb Yisroel was an Osek Betzorchei Tzibur, a Baal Chesed who gave of himself and his time and never turned away anyone who asked for help. He was the director of the Crown Heights Jewish Community Council for many years and devoted countless hours to community affairs.
During the Yom Kippur War, Reb Efraim Mol was stationed at Israel’s southern border with Sinai, when intelligence came in about a possible imminent chemical attack by the Egyptians. Ordered to shave his beard in preparation to don a gask mask, Efraim convinced his superiors to allow him to consult the Rebbe first.

Ahead of winter storm Nemo the city has suspended Alternate Side Parking regulations citywide on Saturday, February 9 to facilitate storm preparation. Parking meters are suspended as well.
