Children got to make their own Matzah from scratch, beginning with grinding wheat into flour, then making the dough followed by rolling it and baking it into matzah. All this took place at the Model Matzah Bakery of Chabad of Syracuse.

Reb Zalman Shimon Dworkin, the Rav and Mora D’asra of the Crown Heights community for twenty years, was born in 1901 in Rogotchov to Reb Yerucham and Rivka. Reb Zalman Shimon’s father was a G-d fearing person and a teacher of unique caliber who taught children unable to afford tuition. Despite his resultant poverty, Reb Yerucham moved his son from the cheder where he was learning to that of Reb Elozor Garelik. Reb Elozor was an expert and searched after teacher whose students generally were from more affluent families.

In an impassioned letter Rabbi Yossi Jacobson strongly endorsed the efforts of the Jewish Community Watch, a website which exposes predators and child molesters. In his letter he endorses their tactics and guidelines for posting names of predators, and he also decries the “blood has been shed on the altar of silence”.
Vayikra: There is no doubt that five books of the Moshe comprise a progressive and comprehensive narrative, respective lessons notwithstanding. Yet, the book of Vayikra, seemingly, denotes a marked departure from the theme that flows through the Torah.
