Car Stop Turns to Chaos as Driver Flees Cops
A wild scene unfolded in Crown Heights today when police officers attempted to pull over a 15-passenger van. As police approached the van, the driver made a u-turn, struck a police car and number of other cars and fled. The suspect was eventually apprehended.

Again, and Again: Another Home Burglarized on Friday Night
First it was just the residents, now even the police are frustrated. Just 12 days ago we reported on the arrest of a suspect tied to a string of burglaries that were occurring on Friday night. Just three days later, the suspect was released without bail. This weekend, a Crown Heights resident interrupted a burglary taking place in his home.

Fire Damages Postville Kosher Meat Processing Plant
Fire has damaged part of Agri-Star, a kosher meat processing plant in Postville, Iowa. The plant was formerly known as Agriprocessors; its CEO, Sholom M. Rubashkin, was sentenced to 27 years in Federal prison following a 2009 raid.

Board Approves Ohel Expansion, Demands Reduction of Hours of Operation
The New York City Board of Standards and Appeals approved a zoning variance for the expansion of Ohel Chabad Lubavitch in Queens, over the local community’s opposition. However, the approval is contingent upon several conditions, including the limiting of hours that the gravesite can be accessed by visitors.
