Men Returning from Shul Witness Shooting
An African-American male was shot tonight on Carroll St. between Albany and Troy Aves., just as several of his neighbors were returning home from Shul. He was treated on the scene by EMS and rushed to Kings County Hospital.

About an hour before Shabbos, a pickup truck traveling down Union Street lost one of its wheels and went smashing into three parked cars, injuring its driver and a man who was saying Tehillim in one of the parked cars.

As we reported earlier this week, Rabbi Rick Jacobs, the president of the Union for Reform Judaism, attended the grand banquet of the Kinus Hashluchim as a guest of Rabbi Yehuda Krinsky. As the JTA’s Ben Harris noted, this is likely the first time that the leader of America’s Reform movement has attended this annual event.
Conference Unites OK Mashgichim
On Rosh Chodesh Kislev (November 4), OK Kosher Certification held its annual Mashgiach Conference at the Jewish Children’s Museum in Brooklyn, NY. Over 150 OK personnel and mashgichim were in attendance, including many from around the world.
