A 19-year old boy named Chaim Stern leaned over the railing of the ship he was traveling on. Nearly two years before, he had left his homeland of Czechoslovakia to escape persecution from the spreading Nazi threat. Now, as he reached British held Israel, the ship, full of refugees like himself, was turned around because they did not have the right documentation.

Crown Heights Hospitals Among Deadliest in U.S.

Multiple New York hospitals received the dubious distinction of being among the least safe health care institutions in the country, according to a new study by Consumer Reports. Among them: Crown Heights’ Kings County Hospital and nearby Brookdale Hospital.

Florida Governor Joins Chabad at Sample Seder

Florida Governor Rick Scott joined Chabad of Tallahassee on the eve of the first night of Pesach “pre-Seder” event hosted by Rabbi Schneur  and Chanie Oirechman. Joined by 70 Florida State University (FSU) students, Governor Scott had the opportunity to participate in a “pre-enactment” of the ritual Seder dinner, which was hosted later that evening when the holiday began at sunset.
