Mumbai Chabad Center to Reopen Tuesday

In November of 2008, Islamic terrorists entered the Chabad House run by Rabbi Gabi and Rivky Holtzberg in Mumbai, India, and murdered them and four of their guests in cold blood. In the immediate aftermath of the gruesome attack, photos of the smiling couple were transposed with images of their crying 2-year-old son, Moishe, and the bullet-riddled shell of the Jewish center the Holtzbergs had built in the heart of India’s largest city.

Letter & Spirit: Getting Past the Yeshiva’s Doorkeeper

In this week’s edition of Letter & Spirit, we present a letter of the Rebbe about the well-known story of the Sage Hillel and the doorkeeper of the yeshiva, where he thirsted to enter and hear Torah but could not because of lack of funds – a story of Mesiras Nefesh for the learning of Torah. The letter was written through the Rebbe’s trusted secretary Rabbi Nissan Mindel, and was made available by his son-in-law Rabbi Sholom Ber Shapiro.

CGI FL Campers Learn 32,319 Lines of Torah

For its 8th year since its inception, campers of Camp Gan Israel Florida Overnight presented the Rebbe with a beautiful gift; a total of 32,319 lines of Torah; Mishnayos, Tanya, Siddur and Yediyos Kloliyos were learned as part of the camp’s annual Mishnayos Be’Al Peh program – with results far surpassing the achievements of the previous year.
