While he was mayor of Burlington, Vermont, U.S. presidential candidate Bernie Sanders defended Chabad of Vermont’s public menorah, one of the first politicians in the country to do so. Jedidiah Murphy has spent the last 15 years on death row in Livingston, Texas. Like all of the men in the Polunsky Unit, he’s been convicted of terrible crimes.
