Following a long career in social services, Rabbi Mordechai Dov Ber Pupko succeeded his father in heading the Bais Torah Damesek Eliezer synagogue – the “Pupko Shul” – in Flatbush, Brooklyn. He was interviewed in February of 2014, and passed away several weeks ago, in February of 2025.

The IDF Spokesperson released a photo of two soldiers speaking with a 4-year-old child who had been sent by Hamas towards an IDF outpost. The boy was returned to Gaza by IDF forces and in coordination with international organizations. What caught our eye though were the patches on the soldier’s helmet.
