This Shabbos at the Besht: Rabbi Dovid Zaklikowski is the author of 25 books, including the acclaimed Advice for Life series. He will be giving a shiur on theseemingly puzzling Talmudic story of Hillel the Elder being barred from the study hall and having to climb on the roof to study.
New Discovery: A Mugah’dike Sicha from the Rebbe, Never Published Before
With the approach of Rebbetzin Chana’s 55th Yahrzeit, Lahak Hanochos published a new finding discovered shortly before the new year. The Rebbe’s edits, in his own holy handwriting, on a Sicha of 6 Tishrei 5731, where he requested that rabbis raise the issue of “Who is a Jew” during their Yom Kippur sermons and encourage their congregants to take action.
IDF Thwarts Attempt to Smuggle Weapons from Lebanon
During a joint IDF and Israeli Police operation on Saturday, September 14th, 2019, an attempt to smuggle illegal weapons was thwarted from Lebanon into Israel. The seizure was cleared for publication today.

Ukraine Arrests Officials Seeking Bribes from Jewish Businesses
As tens of thousands of Jews from around the world converged upon Uman, Ukraine, for Rosh Hashanah, anti-corruption enforcement took place on the ground, a move that greatly pleased the US-based Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce, which brought the issue to the forefront. Employees of the local utility authority attempted to extort bribes from local Jewish vendors, demanding hundreds of dollars from each so that they could continue operating. Only this time – for the first time ever – they got arrested while doing so.
Weekly Letter: The Difference Between Merrirus (Bitterness) and Atzvus (Depressions)
During the Ten Days of Repentance – we approach the day of Yom Kippur with awe and trepidation. As we experience feelings of remorse – it would be good to keep in mind the words of the Rebbe in this letter – where he explains the difference between feelings of merrirus (bitterness) and atzvus (depressions) – as the Tanya teaches. And points out that teshuvah is followed by a feeling of relief and joy – expressed in the “Season of our Rejoicing.”
Cteen Judaism 101 in University Today
This fall, some 100 teenagers are expected to register as Yeshiva University non-matriculated students in a ground-breaking course on the tenets of Judaism. In conjunction with CTeen, Chabad’s Teen Network, the two-credit pilot course will cover topics of history and faith over 14 classes.

A Swedish Political Party Says it Will Fight to Ban Circumcision
A Swedish political party has voted to change its official stance in favor of banning circumcision. The Swedish Center Party voted 314-166 at its annual meeting to work to fight the nonmedical circumcision of boys. Party chief Annie Loof was among the party leaders who criticized the vote.
