Daylight Savings Time comes to an end tonight, Motzei Shabbos. At 2:00am, all clocks should “fall back” to 1:00am, giving everyone a much appreciated extra hour of sleep.

The 3rd edition of Hadras Ponim Zokon is out-of-print and to enable the publication of an expanded 4th edition of this celebrated sefer (of approximately 1,150 pages), financial assistance is needed.

In accordance with the Rebbe’s vision for this sefer*, Hadras Ponim Zokon is sold below cost to make it affordable to talmidei yeshiva and many seforim are donated to libraries of yeshivos and shuls and gifted to Rabonim and Roshei Yeshiva. A fire which started in the kitchen of Beis Levi Yitzchak Shul in Crown Heights caused extensive damage, spreading beyond the kitchen into multiple apartments. No one was injured in the blaze.

A manhole explosion shook a Crown Heights block Friday night, igniting the car parked directly above it. The explosion knocked out power to a nearby building. No one was injured and firefighters quickly dowsed the fire.
An explosive device was located Saturday afternoon in the Re’im Stream. The device, located inside a book, was discovered by hikers. Police sappers arriving at the scene neutralized the explosive device. No one was injured and no damage was caused.
Towards the end of Tishrei, the Karnowsky family, members of Hanholas Hayeshiva and his many classmates and friends, gathered in the Dining Hall of Oholei Torah as Osher and Rivka Karnowsky dedicated Heichal Shmuel, a wing in the Eastern Parkway Campus Dining Hall, in memory of their beloved son, Shmuel, who passed away short while ago.
It was a difficult Shabbos for many residents of Southern Israel as Gaza-based terrorists fired 10 rockets into Israel in the hope of killing Israeli civilians. It began on Friday night, at 9:00PM, as the Red Alert was heard in Sderot and Shar HaNegev Regional Council communities.
