Finding Our Soul in Solstice Canyon
On a September morning this year, a small group met at fabulous Solstice Canyon Park for a nature hike. The beauty of the area is amazing and inspirational, and these features were enhanced by our guides Rabbi Levi Cunin of Malibu Chabad and Chana Schulman, an environmentalist and naturalist who lives in Corral Canyon.

In the early 90’s I fell in love with Steve Jobs’ new NeXT computer. I had used a Macintosh since I was 19 but after Jobs’ was kicked out of Apple I gravitated to his new invention which blew the Mac away. As Rabbi at Oxford, I regularly hosted world leaders to lecture to our students and I had to have Jobs. So I arranged a meeting with one of his top lieutenants and traveled to Redwood City, California.
Chabad of Palo Alto Showcases $12 Million Project
Chabad-Lubavitch of the Greater South Bay area kicked off a $6 million building project with a celebration concert last week at the Oshman Family Jewish Community Center in Palo Alto. Piano prodigy Ethan Bortnick headlined the concert.

Ukrainian Foreign Minister Visits Western Wall
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister, Konstantin Grishchenko, visited the Kotel (Western Wall) on Sunday. He was accompanied by Israel’s Ambassador to Ukraine, Reuven Dinel, and Ukraine’s Ambassador to Israel, Hennadii Nadolenko. The three were led by Rabbi Mordechai Elihav, the Director-General of the Wall Heritage Foundation and Rabbi Yossi Kurzweil of Chabad, who was recently appointed by Foreign Minister Avigdor Lieberman to oversee the relations between the Jewish organizations in Ukraine and the Foreign Ministry.

Ten Yad Hacnosas Kallah has released the names of all the lucky winners in its Chinese auction last night. The prizes range from $25,000 cash, to a leather talis bag. There’s a New Chabad in Town
