Tuesday, April 20, on the corner of Kingston Ave and Crown St. out of respect to Kingston Bakery and House of Glatt National Grid did not want to stop the gas lines leading to their buildings during the day (as part of the upgrading of the gas lines along Kingston Ave.) in order not to cause them any monetary loss.

Yeshivah Centre members in Melbourne have called for more democracy in the 52-year-old organisation after accusations the facility’s dayan, Rabbi Zvi Hirsch Telsner, censored their newsletter.

The Pesach edition of the publication included three articles discussing the value of removing or retaining the controversial “Yechi” sign on the wall of the main shul. But by the end of Pesach, the two pieces calling for a vote on its presence had been deleted from electronic and paper copies.

In honor of the 8th Yohrtziet of Harav Hatomim Dovid Bryn z"l, Shliach of the Rebbe in North Dade, FL; phase I of a documentary about his life was released. Yohrtzeit Services will take place Tuesday, April 20th, 7:30am & 7:00pm at the Dovid Bryn Library followed by a Farbrengen and a full spread.

Rabbi Moshe Eliyahu Gerlitzky, who fled Nazi occupied Poland and continued to help found and run the first Chabad yeshivah in Montreal, Canada, passed away on April 4. He was 94.

Born in 1915 in the Polish industrial city of Lodz, Moshe Eliyahu was raised by his parents Avraham Yitzchok and Leah Gerlitzky in a home imbued with Chasidic warmth and a spirit of loving kindness towards others.
